ApplicationBling.com has changed! Formerly, an e-commerce website where visitors could customize and order online, the website has transitioned to a blog site where job seekers can download a free template and customize and print Application Bling® at home on standard label papers.
Why make the change? Although Application Bling® is a proven concept that works, maintaining and promoting an e-commerce site was too much to manage in my spare time. As a working mom of 2 teens (one about to start college), and a wife, building and maintaining a side e-commerce business was too stressful, no matter the potential. I seriously thought of giving up and taking the website down but a very smart and intuitive friend encouraged me to try something different and I’m excited about the change!
In addition to the free template and tips on how to create your Application Bling®, the website offers job tips targeted to the millennial generation as well as offering other news, reviews, advice and more for the challenges teens and young adults encouter in their everyday lives.
My goal has never been to get rich off this idea. I’ve simply wanted to share a concept I stumbled across that works so that other young people might benefit from it. I’m passionate about young people learning the value of a dollar and the significance of establishing a strong work ethic. With so many entitled kids entering the real world who expect to have everything they want without sacrifice and hard work, instilling a sense of ownership, responsibility and pride in our youth is vital for our nation & economy to be strong again.
Don’t get me wrong. I’ve been one of those well-meaning parents who spoiled their kids. And even though my kids are teenagers, I don’t think it’s too late to steer them back in the right direction. They’re going to write articles for the blog and eventually help monetize the website with those little Google ads you see all over the internet. Hopefully, I’ll make enough to pay for the domain name and hosting fee, and eventually have enough left over to compensate a few creative friends who helped me along the way.
I may have made some mistakes in developing ApplicationBling.com, but the message I preach to my kids applies to me. If you believe in something, work hard and don’t quit. Don’t be afraid to try something new.
